民国时期图书馆出版实践初探

摘 要 图书馆出版是当今图书馆界研究热点之一， 目前我国对这一课题的关注点主要集中在对国外图书馆出版理论和经验的引介，关于我国图书馆出版的系统研究还是空白。论文回顾了民国时期我国图书馆出版实践，分析了独立担任出版者、与出版机构、大学合作等出版模式，介绍了学术专著、古籍善本、雕刻版片、图情刊物等出版物类型，并从丰富图书馆馆藏、促进图书馆学理论建构、保存传播“国粹”等方面归纳了民国时期图书馆出版实践的意义。

A Preliminary Study of Library Publishing Practice in the Period of the Republic of China

Abstract Library publishing is one of the research focuses in today’s library field. Chinese researchers concentrate on introducing the theory and practice of library publishing in foreign countries while paying little attention to the ones of China. This article reviews the practice of library publishing in the period of the Republic of China， and analyzes the publishing modes including library publishing as independent publisher， cooperating with publishing agencies and universities， etc. It also introduces the types of publications， including academic monographs， ancient rare books， craving plates， library journals， etc.， and concludes its significance from the aspects of  eiching library collections， promoting theoretical construction of library science， preserving and spreading the quintessence of Chinese culture， etc.

0 引言

图书馆出版（Library Publishing），也称 “图书馆出版服务”（Library Publishing Service），拥有较为悠久的历史，早在因特网之前就已经出现了[1]。北美地区的图书馆出版起步最早，发展也最为成熟。美国学术图书馆与出版的渊源可以追溯到1900年前后，当时在美国大学图书馆内建成了美国最早的一批学术出版社[2]。但直到1990年代前后图书馆出版才作为新的出版业态受到关注[3]，成为被赋予现代意义的一项图书馆服务。据美国图书馆出版联盟（Library Publishing Coalition， 以下简称LPC）第4版《图书馆出版名录》（Library Publishing Directory，以下简称《名录》） 显示：在被调查的118所高校图书馆中，最早的出版活动开始于1988年。这一年，美国富兰克林图书馆（Franklin Library） 出版了作者辛格（Isaac Bashevis Singer） 签名的限量版《瑪士撒拉之死》 （The Death of Methuselah and Other Stories） 一书，标志着世界图书馆出版事业的开端。进入21世纪后，国外图书馆出版服务获得了飞速发展并日趋成熟，目前图书馆出版服务已成为国外图书馆完善学术交流、提升自身地位的重要服务内容之一[4]，据《名录》 调查显示，截至2016年，已有126所高校图书馆加入该联盟并开展出版服务[5]。

随着与国际图书馆界的逐渐接轨，我国图书馆界于1990年代末开始了对图书馆出版的关注。依托中国知网，对我国关于图书馆出版的研究状况进行调研，发现最早涉及图书馆出版的文献是1991年戴祖谋、麦群忠的学术论文《建国前出版的图书馆刊物》，述及图书馆出版的期刊[6]。随后，郭瑞华1998年的小论文简单介绍了美国图书馆出版全国著名的具有永久纪念意义的系列书，并分析了其意义[7]。虽然没有明确体现图书馆出版服务的意识，但反映出我国对这一课题的关注。2010年图书馆出版这一术语正式出现在我国的学术论文中，孙坦等在论文中用两小节的篇幅对图书馆出版进行分析，简述了当时美国研究图书馆协会（Association of Research Libraries， ARL）成员馆已经开展或计划提供出版服务的现状，并指出：图书馆出版模式是当时这一领域的研究热点[8]。2012年，“图书馆出版服务”一词作为主角正式出现在学术论文中，赵惠芳、毛一国认为图书馆出版是学术交流的新模式，并介绍了国外图书馆出版的三种主要合作模式：新成立出版社、图书馆与出版社合作、学者与图书馆合作[9]。
